DANCE SCHOOL

The Excel Dance School (for boys and girls) will commence
on Saturday 29 March with Ballet. Linda Colligan, Ballet Teacher,
will run classes from January to December (3 terms), similar
to the school schedule. Maximum of 16/20 children per class.

A combination of Ballet and Modern Theatre
Dance for each group will be taught that will involve:
Dance styles and steps;
Music and rhythm;
Dance structure;
Co-ordination Skills;
Performance Technique.
The course will encourage confidence and self-expression
as well as individuality within a structured environment
and is open to all children from the age of 5yrs.

| Linda Colligan is registered with the ISTD. She trained in
the UK in ballet/jazz/modern/tap before performing extensively
as a professional dancer on stage/mtv/arts & music festivals
… and has been teaching dance for several years in UK/Turkey/Belgium/France.

The Excel Dance School will cater for 4 different age groups ranging from 5 years
old and upwards.

| Students with particular ability will be encouraged to take
examinations in ballet at the end of the year but the focus
will be on participation and enjoyment rather than just
examination. Children will have the opportunity to participate
in a sharing/show at Christmas and may also get an opportunity
to participate on stage at the Excel with professional touring
productions where appropriate.

| The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the
world’s leading dance examinations board. Formed in 1904
it is today a registered educational charity and is the only
organisation that covers the full spectrum of dance examinations
on a truly global scale. |
| Uniform will be worn by all children participating in the
school of dance. The Tipperary Excel have sourced a supplier
in the UK that will provide uniforms for the school. |
